Witches Hex Trump, Kavanaugh but Can’t Defeat Holy Spirit’s Power

Just a few days ago, a group of witches hosted an event to cast spells on recently appointed Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. The group even created a Facebook event page called “Ritual to Hex Brett Kavanaugh” and charged attendees $10 a ticket.

The page description reads: “Please join us for a public hex on Brett Kavanaugh, upon all rapists and the patriarchy at large which emboldens, rewards and protects them. We are embracing witchcraft’s true roots as the magik [sic] of the poor, the downtrodden and disenfranchised and its history as often the only weapon, the only means of exacting justice available to those of us who have been wronged by men just like him.”

On top of it all, the group plans to give part of the event proceeds to Planned Parenthood.

Thankfully, witches weren’t the only ones to show up to that event. In a video, Lance Wallnau shares about a group of intercessors who stood in the gap.

“What’s interesting is a group of intercessors surrounded the bookstore and if you look at any of the media footage, even though Antifa was there, and the witches were there and they were doing their curses, there was no manifest altercation,” Wallnau says. “The reason is, the Christians were singing about the blood of Jesus for hours. … You could hear the singing outside and there was such an anointing on it that I’m convinced that the blood of Jesus kept that incident from happening because Antifa was strangely mute at the event. It was the singing of the believers, I think, that really, on location, was the great neutralizer on any kind of mischief that could be released by occult curses.”

Other witches have risen up with a political agenda. Last week, Lee Grady—who was editor of Charisma magazine for 11 years—wrote about a witch who detailed instructions in a blog post about how to curse Trump.

I’ve written before that the culture wars we’re seeing are actually a spiritual battle manifesting in politics and media. We may see the spiritual side more clearly when real-life witches arise to place hexes on our conservative leaders, but the battle is always raging—and we always need to be prepared.

As a Christian, I don’t believe this struggle in America is just left versus right or Democrats versus Republicans. I believe it’s between light and darkness, between good and evil. There’s a spiritual nature to this conflict, which evangelicals call “spiritual warfare.” This isn’t just between people. In fact, the Bible says, “We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Eph. 6:12, KJV).

On August 19, 2018, my friend John Kilpatrick preached a sermon to his congregation at Church of His Presence in Daphne, Alabama, and told them witchcraft had been unleashed on Donald Trump. He used the reference in 1 Kings 19 when Jezebel unleashed a spirit of witchcraft against the prophet Elijah—the most powerful Old Testament prophet—and left him running for his life and feeling totally discouraged. Someone posted a clip of the end of the service, when Kilpatrick called on his congregation to pray for the president. Within a week, almost a million people had watched it.

Usually the press and the wider culture seem oblivious to anything the Bible says about such things. But when the sermon went viral, press from around the world began running stories. The Newsweek website blared: “Pastor Prays for Trump to Defeat Deep State ‘Witchcraft,’ Speaks in Tongues.”

Newsweek wrote: “Kilpatrick connected America’s current scourge of ‘witchcraft’ that is attacking the president to a biblical struggle in which Trump is in a ‘show-down’ for power with the shadows of the Deep State. In the video, Kilpatrick can be seen shouting and speaking in tongues as he prays for Trump to defeat the evil ‘witchcraft’ powers.” Then Newsweek quoted Kilpatrick saying: “I don’t know if you know this, and I don’t know if you’re going to believe me when I tell you this, but what’s happening right now in America is witchcraft is trying to take this country over,” prompting an audible response from his audience.

Kilpatrick went on to say:

I am not being political, but I don’t see how President Trump bears up under it. He is as strong as I have ever seen a man be. But here’s what the Holy Spirit said to me last night, and here’s what He said for me to tell you. He said, “Tell the church that so far Trump has been dealing with Ahab. But Jezebel’s fixing to step out from the shadows.” That’s what the Lord said to me. … He said, “Pray for him now, because … there’s about to be a shift, and the deep state is about to manifest, and it’s going to be a showdown like you can’t believe.” So I’m coming to you as a prophet, as a man of God, and I’m telling you, it’s time to pray for the president.

Two days later, Aug. 21, 2018, Paul Manafort was convicted on several counts in a case brought against him by the Mueller investigation. The same day, Trump’s former attorney Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to some minor charges. Suddenly, the president was in even more hot water than usual. It seemed something had been unleashed. And two days before, it had been predicted by this pastor in Alabama, who is best known in Christian circles as the pastor of the five-year-long revival at Brownsville Assembly of God (also called the Pensacola Outpouring), which drew four million people.

Somehow what Kilpatrick said resonated with Christians all over the country. They perceived something is very wrong, but they couldn’t put their finger on it. So when Kilpatrick said it was spiritual warfare and told them to pray, they understood what they were supposed to do.

“Something’s been unleashed in our nation,” Kilpatrick told me when I interviewed him for a blog I was writing on the subject. “It’s like everyone is in a spiritual stupor. It’s time for America to turn and repent. This is more than just political differences. Spirits have been unleashed, but if we humble ourselves and pray, God will bring that spirit down.”

Time will tell if Christians will heed the call to pray and whether, as Kilpatrick predicted, revival will come to America to heal its wounds or whether Trump will be brought down by these huge unseen forces. But for me and for millions of other Christians trying to understand where God is in all this, what Kilpatrick preached explains, in spiritual terms, the war that seems to be tearing this country apart.

I felt Kilpatrick’s prophecy was so important that I added a section about it to my new book, Trump Aftershock. In fact, much of this article was taken from Chapter 10 of my book, where I detail the spiritual war in America. You download the entire chapter free at trumpaftershock.com.

Evangelist Alveda C. King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., read the book and had this to say about it: “Trump Aftershock is definitely a ‘for such a time as this’ treatise. President Donald Trump is truly a world shaker, bringing people to their knees in shock or in prayer, depending on the perspective. Kudos to Stephen Strang for articulating the aftershocks to Trump’s election in a straightforward and honest way. He has the courage to work the ministry of the scribe for our times.”

Trump Aftershock releases Election Day, Nov. 6. I encourage you to order your own copy of the book at trumpaftershock.com if you haven’t already. If you order before Nov. 6, you get a package of free items, including a subscription to Charisma magazine. To hear more about the spiritual battle raging in our nation, listen to my podcast below!
