In September 1997 Charisma published a cover story on the work I do in prison ministry, and I received great opportunities to preach the gospel as a result of the story.
I’ve heard from prisoners, ministers and many loved ones of prisoners expressing how they were blessed by the story. Thousands of prisoners have written our ministry and have had the gospel presented to them–and many have made decisions for Christ. I’ve even received mail from Egypt, Spain, Nigeria, Japan and South Korea.
The story also created an opportunity for me to minister in Texas. I had prayed about ministering in some of the prisons in Texas, but a door hadn’t opened. Some friends of Jesus Inside Prison Ministry Inc. (JIPM) saw the article and shared it with others, and I was invited to share in some prisons there.
Since then, I have been going there twice a year preaching in youth facilities, churches, prisons, jails and detention centers. Hundreds have been born again, and many have been healed, delivered and baptized in the Holy Spirit.
Before Charisma’s feature on my ministry, very few churches were open to having me come in and share about the revival that continues inside prisons. But churches are beginning to invite me to come and share.
Truly the vision of Charisma is being accomplished.
